The Southern Cross is another euphemism for an inverted cross - as it's points south towards Hell - so the Sign of the Southern Cross could be attributed to that, to tie in with the dark images that some people see in Black Sabbath's name and history.

General CommentThe first Sabbath w/Dio I ever heard back in High and wow is all could say then and today it still moves tiobetrattculpvalteresppredrodiftuki.coinfo depth of the song so dark and deep into search for the truth is right on. When all hope is gone because you were trying to be the person you are not go back to the true you and stop letting the southern cross bring uyou down.

"Turn Up the Night" and "The Mob Rules" cruise with the sleek assurance typical of '80s metal and an admittedly un-Sabbath-like fluidity. "Voodoo" is closer to the group's churning speed, with the seven-plus-minute epic "The Sign of the Southern Cross" perfectly fitting the band's persona and groove.
