Alan Parsons was an engineer that had worked with the Beatles, Pink Floyd and Pilot, when he met singer songwriter Erci Woofson. Woofson had discovered that filsm and the like that contained Edgar Alan Poe in the title had never lost money and he wondered whether that would include a recorded version of Poes most famous tales/5(25).

The instrumental tracks on the Alan Parsons Project albums were always a highlight - now we have them collected together in one album. Just about all the standard length instrumentals are here, sequenced well and very good. They do tend to be a little repetitive though, without much musical development within the tracks/5(18).
